TIGERS SECURE AWAY DRAW

Sunday September 01, 2013
SHEFFIELD ended their away-day blues with a hard fought 45-45 draw at Glasgow on Sunday.

The Sheffield Window Centre side have a miserable record on the road but played their part in an Ashfield thriller.

American World Cup star Ricky Wells continued his fine form to top the Tigers scoring with 15+1 to delight the travelling army of loyal Sheffield supporters.

Guest star Richard Lawson once again did a stunning job in the absence of skipper Simon Stead with 11+2.

All-action reserve Facundo Albin improved as the meeting progressed to bolst the lower order - whilst Andre Compton put in a solid display which included a vital race win.

Guest Aaron Summers did struggle to make an impression at No.5 whilst Simon Lambert did not enjoy his best day - yet the heroics of Wells and Lawson were enough to give Sheffield two Premier League points.

Sheffield co-promoter David Hoggart said: "I'm delighted with the result and on reflection I believe it was a fair outcome.

"Ricky was brilliant and Richard Lawson was once again a super guest. We are pleased to come away with two points, it was a good effort."
