SHEFFIELD were forced to dig deep before eventually taking a 49-41 victory over Newcastle at Owlerton.
A magnificent paid maximum from guest Richard Lawson coupled with a superb display from Adam Roynon at No.5 led the Tigers to all three Premier League points.
The duo combined for match-winning 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15 to ensure the hosts edged a nervy encounter - and co-boss David Hoggart was delighted with the display.
Said Hoggart: "We were delighted with the result - it was a great meeting which was always touch and go with both sides in contention, but we're thrilled to have ended up taking all three points.
"Once we drew level I knew we were capable of finishing the job, and Richard Lawson and Adam Roynon did a great job for us in Heats 13 and 15 to make sure we got the win."
Whilst the heat-leader duo racked up the points, reserves Damien Koppe and Facundo Albin plus Joe Haines put in promising displays to add vital points.
Fans favourite Andre Compton also enjoyed a solid return - whilst Ricky Wells completed a strong all-around team performance despite not enjoying his finest evening.
