SOMERSET 18 TIGERS 6, ABANDONED

Friday May 17, 2013
SHEFFIELD saw their Premier League clash at Somerset abandoned after just four heats following a heavy downpour at the Oak Tree Arena.

With heat-leader duo Simon Stead and Richard Hall both absent through injury, Somerset raced into an 18-6 lead before rain intervened to put a halt to proceedings.

And an incredibly frustrated Sheffield promoter David Hoggart stated the clubs are now working to try and arrange an alternative date to suit both teams.

He said: "It’s an absolute nightmare after last week, and to make things more difficult there aren’t a lot of dates looking forward.

"It might mean we go down when they are without Jason Doyle or we go down without Simon Stead, Richard Hall or Ricky Wells because of other commitments.

"Tomorrow the priority is to try and work out a date for the re-arranged meeting."
