TIGERS ROAR BACK WITH BIG CITY CLASH

Wednesday June 20, 2007
SHEFFIELD Tigers return to action after a two-week break when Premier League newcomers Birmingham visit Perry Barr on Thursday (7.45pm).

Work has been taking place around the clock to repair the Owlerton track after it was under water following the recent storms throughout South Yorkshire.

Tigers will be at full strength for a meeting they're desperate to win as they seek revenge for a narrow defeat at Perry Barr last month which was raced in atrocious conditions.

Said club co-boss David Hoggart: "Whilst both teams were complimented on their professionalism that night we felt humiliated by aspects of the control of the meeting that left no Sheffield riders in one race in what was a showpiece event for the Premier League.

"Emiliano (Sanchez) is enjoying his season with the Brummies but as always it is great to see him here at Owlerton and I'm sure our fans will give him a big cheer on parade."

Tigers are currently top of the table - but they have raced a staggering six more matches then Birmingham because of the Brummies' progress in the Premier Trophy.

TIGERS: Ricky Ashworth, Ben Wilson, Andre Compton, Paul Cooper, Joel Parsons, James Birkinshaw, James Cockle.
BIRMINGHAM: Ulrich Ostergaard, Aidan Collins, Jason Lyons, Jon Armstrong, Emiliano Sanchez, Lee Smart, Ben Powell.
