GARRY STEAD UPDATE

Thursday June 07, 2007
TIGERS asset Garry Stead is almost certain to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair after a track crash at Somerset last month.

Stead, on loan to Stoke this season, has suffered multiple injuries and is paralysed below the waist. He is also suffering from problems with his speech but doctors are hopeful this will fully recover.

A charitable fund has been established to raise money for Garry’s specialist needs and independent fund co-ordinators have been appointed to oversee the financial arrangements.

A benefit meeting is being planned at Sheffield together with cash collections, raffles and sale items around the country.

Donations may be sent payable to, “Garry Stead Benefit Fund” c/o Yorkshire Bank,14 High Street, Alfreton, DE55 7BB or paid in at any Yorkshire Bank branch quoting the above detail.
