SHEFFIELD are sweating on the fitness of American ace Ricky Wells for Thursday’s re-arranged League Cup tie with Berwick at Owlerton.

Wells crashed when riding for his Elite League club Wolverhampton at Eastbourne on Saturday and went to hospital for an x-ray on his hand.

Thankfully nothing is broken but he’s withdrawn from the return fixture at Monmore Green on Monday.

A further update will be issued on Wells later in the week.
