REDCAR 45 TIGERS 45

Friday April 06, 2012
An inspired Richard Hall won the last two races of the night to snatch a precious draw for Sheffield at Redcar on Friday night.

Hall had only garnered three points from his first three rides but rose to the occasion when it mattered most, teaming up with Joe Haines in heat 14 to get a 5-1 and then winning the re-run of heat 15, after team-mate Hugh Skidmore crashed out, to grab an unlikely draw for the Owlerton side.

Sheffield started strong but a premature interval, brought on by the adverse weather conditions, allowed the home side to regroup and they came back strongly with two 5-1's in succession. However, Skidmore and Ricky Wells both won races late on to give the Tigers hope before Hall's heroics snatched the valuable draw.

The result follows on from Thursday's home victory and gives the Tigers renewed confidence after a tough start to the campaign. Klaus Jakobsen missed the meeting with an arm injury but is hoping to be fit for Bank Holiday Monday's crunch clash with Scunthorpe.
