TIGERS 44 WORKINGTON 49

Thursday March 29, 2012
David Hoggart insists that the Sheffield management team will not be putting any pressure on their riders after a third straight defeat.

The Tigers were defeated by Workington at Owlerton on Thursday and several riders struggled to keep pace with the visitors, but Hoggart has said that there is absolutely no pressure on any of his riders.

"We aren't going to read too much into the performances yet and we will focus on supporting them and encouraging them. It is very, very early in the season and there is no pressure on anyone.

"That's what we do as a club, we let the riders do their job without them feeling under pressure. We have a reputation for looking after our boys and we will continue to do that. Everyone is putting in maximum effort and they need time to find their feet, which I am sure they will do. Of course we are disappointed to lose but I am not going to dwell on it."

The Tigers battled after falling 10 points down by heat seven, eventually losing by five points after a string of misfortune. The team now have a week before their next meeting, which is at home to Redcar next Thursday.
