TIGERS V WORKINGTON - THURSDAY, PREVIEW

Wednesday March 28, 2012
SHEFFIELD Tigers launch their League Cup campaign with a tough test against a powerhouse Workington side at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45).

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side will need to be on top of their game to get the better of a side highly rated by many experts.

They’re led by Danish under-21 star Rene Bach and experienced Australian Rusty Harrison. They are backed up by young Brits Richard Lawson and Adam Roynon, and exciting American Kenny Ingalls completes the top five. Kyle Howarth and Gary Irving ride at reserve.

Sheffield will line up in the same way they did for last week's home meeting with Belle Vue, with Joe Haines reverting back to the number six race-jacket and Klaus Jakobsen moving to seven.

Tigers team manager David Hoggart said: “Towards the back end of last season Workington were excellent value for money and they provided us with fantastic entertainment. I expect they will do the same this time around!”

SHEFFIELD: Josef Franc, Hugh Skidmore, Ricky Wells, Richard Hall, Emiliano Sanchez, Joe Haines, Klaus Jakobsen.

WORKINGTON: Rene Bach, Kenny Ingalls, Richard Lawson, Adam Roynon, Rusty Harrison, Gary Irving, Kyle Howarth.
