TIGERS SWOOP FOR JAKOBSEN

Wednesday November 30, 2011
SHEFFIELD Tigers have launched their team building plans by signing Danish rider Klaus Jakobsen on a full transfer from Stoke.

Jakobsen has been keen to join the Owlerton club for some time and the announcement will be followed by news of more 2012 signings within the next 24-hours.

Sheffield co-promoter Neil Machin said: “I’ve been interested in signing Klaus for a year or so and when the opportunity arose I took it.

“He comes to us on a full transfer and we’re delighted. He’s a young rider and has bags of potential.

“He wants to get back into British Speedway and is looking forward to the chance here at Owlerton. This is his big chance to make his mark in the sport.”

The talented Dane joined Stoke for the start of 2008 and also rode with Coventry, Peterborough and Birmingham before spending last term in his homeland after Stoke’s drop into the National League.
