IPSWICH 50 TIGERS 40

Thursday October 20, 2011
TIGERS' boss Eric Boocock was seething with referee Chris Gay as his side collapsed late on at Ipswich.

The Tigers lost by 10 after conceding three 5-1's in the last three heats, meaning they must sweat on whether they finish second in the league.

Boocock was especially unhappy with two incidents in particular, he said: "The referee was very poor tonight. I know there was some bad luck but how did he not see Lasse Bjerre getting a flier in heat seven?! He said that he didn't stop it because he never touched the tapes but he flew out!

"The other one was when Hawkins dumped it and then he put all four back, how did he come to that?! I talked more to the referee tonight than I have all season, that says something."

"We're very disappointed, but now we'll have to wait and see what Ipswich do at Workington."

Ipswich 50 (Doolan 13, Bjerre 11+3, Risager 11, Hawkins 10+1, Poole 5+1, Tresarrieu 0, Hart 0)

Sheffield 40 (Skidmore 9+2, Parker 9+1, Sanchez 9+1, Birks 6+1, Palm Toft 4+1, Auty 3+1, Ashworth Rider Replacement)
