SHEFFIELD are staging a Farewell Party Night for retiring Australian Shane Parker at Owlerton on Thursday, November 3.

The club’s Panorama Room is the venue for a night of live music and food as Parker brings down the curtain on a glittering racing career spanning over two decades.

He is set to celebrate a Farewell meeting next March but the Party Night will be a fitting climax to a superb season for Parker – his first in Tigers colours, and a bumper turnout is expected.

Parker said: “I've had a great time at Sheffield, the fans are good, they've made us so welcome and it's always great to see them at the away tracks supporting the boys.

“I really do want everyone to have fun and enjoy the party. The Magoos are worth the trip alone and of course I'll be able to thank everyone for their support.”

Sheffield co-promoter David Hoggart added: “It's an honour to be able to pay tribute and thank Shane and his family for their input into Sheffield Speedway.

“We've had a fabulous season and made a good run for the title off the back of his professionalism and consistency, he's helped us all to achieve that little bit more, not bad for an old boy! We sincerely wish the Parkers well and will miss having them around on race nights.”
