FATE has dealt a further cruel blow to the Speedway fraternity in Sheffield and to Ben Wilson's family in particular with the unexpected passing of Betty Wilson.

Betty's late husband, Roy, died just over 2 weeks ago and Betty fell ill soon afterwards.

Roy's funeral was postponed as a consequence and further arrangements remain unclear.

Sheffield Speedway Club owner, Neil Machin commented: "Betty worked alongside me for nearly 16 years. She added immense colour and had such a sense of order about her work. Nature can be so cruel and my thoughts are very much with Ben and the rest of the family and friends."
