TIGERS 52 IPSWICH 37

Thursday September 01, 2011
SHEFFIELD maintained their impressive Premier League home form with a 52-37 win against Ipswich on Thursday night.

The Tigers were work hard for the eventual margin of victory as they only led by five points after nine races, but the Owlerton side finished strongly to take the maximum three league points.

Josh Auty was in magnificent form, going through the card for a five-ride maximum, and Shane Parker was equally impressive, both winning several races from the back, as Sheffield remained in control and led 43-34 going into the final two heats.

The extra point was sealed when Emiliano Sanchez, who had had a torrid night up to then, shot from the start in the penultimate race and Simon Lambert partnered him to the flag for the home side’s second 5-1 to stretch the lead to an unassailable 13 points.

IPSWICH 37: Lasse Bjerre 11, Mathieu Tressarieu 7+1, Kevin Doolan 6, Morten Risager 5+2, Jerran Hart 4+1, Taylor Poole 4+1, Chris Mills 0.
