SHEFFIELD Tigers launch a hectic September at home to Ipswich Witches on Thursday (7.45).

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side need to claim all three points from their remaining home fixtures in a bid to achieve their aim of a top three finish.

They are facing up to eight league outings throughout the month with more fixtures still to be arranged.

And club owner Neil Machin says the Suffolk side will present a tough challenge.

He said “Ipswich are one of the top teams in the Premier League and in Kevin Doolan and Lasse Bjerre they have some classy performers.

“The team is packed with riders who can go well around our place and we will need a solid all-round team effort to get the maximum three points.

“It’s the start of a hectic September with eight fixtures planned and more still to slot in so we want to start the month in the right way.”

Tigers are expected to welcome back Ashley Birks who has been struggling with a shoulder injury for the last few weeks. The rest of the team will be unchanged from the side which lost at Newcastloe.

Ipswich include former Elite League star Morten Risager and youngster Lasse Bjerre is a highly rated prospect with a good family background as he is the brother of King’s Lynn’s Danish Grand Prix star Kenneth.

They also include former Sheffield man Chris Mills at reserve alongside impressive British youngster Jerran Hart.
