TIGERS 58 PLYMOUTH 38

Thursday August 25, 2011
SHEFFIELD Tigers turned up the heat in the race for a top three Premier League place with a superb 58-38 win over Plymouth at Owlerton on Thursday.

The Sheffield Window Centre-backed side were in a dominant mood from start to finish despite the Devils using their tactical rides to good effect.

Retiring Tigers veteran Shane Parker once again continued his sensational form with a 13-point haul including wins over Great Britain World Cup star Ben Barker.

Plymouth only found success when they used their Elite League riders Ricky Wells and Ben Barker in tactical outings and when Tigers man Ricky Ashworth pulled out with bike problems.

Boss Eric Boocock said: “That was very pleasing and it sets us up nicely for a very busy September. All the lads will get some confidence from this after a quiet spell.”

SHEFFIELD 58: Shane Parker 13, Emiliano Sanchez 9+3, Simon Lambert 9+2, Josh Auty 9+1, Ricky Ashworth 8+1, Hugh Skidmore 8+1, Ben Hopwood 2

PLYMOUTH 38: Ricky Wells 12+1, Ben Barker 11, John Oliver 9, Gino Franchetti 5, Jesper Kristiansen 1, Lee Smart 0, Hynek Stichauer R/R
